History of the Cascade Schipperke Club
On June 2, 1984, the first “official” meeting of what has become “The Cascade Schipperke Club” was called to order. Nineteen new members were present.
The first official club Fun Match was also held on June 2, 1984. Since that time the club has held one or two fun matches a year where club members, prospective club members, and Schipperke owners can have fun with their dogs and win prizes! The club has also hosted health-related seminars, judges' seminars, and other educational programs. The CSC has also had a breed booth at the Seattle Kennel Club Dog Shows several times, as well as a Schipperke booth at Western Washington Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Washington. The club has also hosted three Schipperke Club of America (Parent Club) National Specialties and ten Regional Specialties.
Members, both past and present, have finished dozens of American Kennel Club conformation Champions and earned Obedience and Tracking titles. Many have owned Schipperkes that went on to win Best Of Breed, dozens of Group Wins and Placements, and even Best In Shows.
Members who prefer to have what we call Companion Schipperkes participate in the fun things we have at our Matches. Just because a member does not like to show, that does not mean he/she doesn’t have a wonderful Schipperke, nor are they loved any less.
